Shawnee Mission School District has priceless art work!

Shawnee Mission School District is short on cash, but has Benton treasure
As it turns out, Wyandotte High School is not the only high school in the area to have high priced art. The Shawnee Mission School District has a $700,000 original painting by Thomas Hart Benton, a Missouri Native that is stored in a “secured location” somewhere.  The art work was a gift from the 1957 graduating class of 1957 given to the former Shawnee Mission High School which is now Shawnee Mission North. Read more about it the KC Star.
